Impressive Power

Powering the 2019 Nissan LEAF is a 110 kW AC synchronous electric motor which provides up to 147 horsepower. For the Ioniq, it comes with 118 horsepower with an interior-permanent magnet synchronous motor. Both feature a single-speed transmission with front-wheel drive. Enjoy faster acceleration with the LEAF and 236 lb.-ft. of torque as compared to 218 lb.-ft. of torque for the Ioniq. With just a little more power, the LEAF wins on performance. A locking/limited slip differential is also standard on the LEAF while not available on the Ioniq.

Modern Comfort

When it comes to interior comfort, the difference is in the details. For example, the LEAF offers carpeted floor mats while none are available with the Ioniq. More headroom means more room to move and the LEAF wins again with 41.2 inches whereas the Ioniq is just a little short with 39.1 inches. Both models include a stereo system with the LEAF offering a CD player and MP3 player for additional entertainment options.

Convenient Design

Both the 2019 Nissan LEAF and Ioniq are concerned about function in the design of the models. They include available heated mirrors and intermittent windshield washers. As an added bonus, the LEAF has rear windshield wipers as standard while this feature isnā€™t available on the Hyundai model. Bring along more stuff because the LEAF offers just a little more cargo space. Safety is standard for both compact cars with airbags, rearview cameras and traction control. However, the LEAF gives you a more thorough view of your surroundings with the Intelligent Around View Monitor.

You win when you choose an electric vehicle that has everything you need and a few extra amenities to enhance the driving experience.
