Premium Technology

If you spend a lot of time behind the wheel, youā€™re going to be looking for premium entertainment. Both the 2019 Nissan LEAF and 2019 Tesla Model 3 include an FM stereo radio, but the LEAF features satellite radio as well for expanded media options. Also included are a CD player and MP3 capability with auxiliary ports for other devices. The system on the LEAF features speed-sensitive volume to keep the music at the right listening level. Each model comes with advanced safety features to give you added confidence on the road. Both include blind spot warning, airbags and antilock brakes. The Hyundai model provides a rearview camera as standard, but the LEAF takes it up a notch with an optional Intelligent Around View Monitor to help you better see the surroundings.

Exceptional Comfort

Slide inside one of these models for premium comfort. Both models include bucket seats with six-way power adjustment for the driver. As an added bonus, you can add heated front seats on the 2019 Nissan LEAF, but itā€™s not available with the Model 3. The two are similar for interior volume with the LEAF coming out slightly ahead for front headroom with 41.2 inches compared to 40.3 inches. At the same time, interior cargo volume is significantly biased towards the LEAF at 23.6 cu. Ft. with the Ioniq holding 15.0 cu. Ft. of room.

Practical Performance

Both the LEAF and the Tesla are stylish and modern. These two electric models are designed to capture your attention. However, the LEAF is shorter and narrower, making it a little easier to maneuver through heavy traffic and city congestion. Perhaps the most significant difference is in the turning radius with the LEAF boasting a radius of 17.4ā€™ as compared to 19.4ā€™ for the Tesla. This comparison isnā€™t surprising, considering the Hyundai model carries over 200 lbs. more in weight.

While you enjoy a lot of amenities with either model, the lower MSRP for the 2019 Nissan LEAF makes it a great deal.
